Orlando Science Center invites you to discover your superpowers at the DC Super Heroes exhibition, running now through September 7. Produced by The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, this immersive experience encourages you to grab your cape at the entrance and help the Justice League save the day at the Hall of Justice.
Before I dive into our visit, I have to say—we felt genuinely welcomed the moment we arrived, starting with “The Love Bridge.” This stunning installation not only celebrates the beauty of diversity but also honors the lives lost during the Pulse nightclub tragedy on June 12, 2016. While it doesn’t explicitly mention Pulse, its message is unmistakable and deeply moving. In a time when hate is still far too present, this tribute is a powerful reminder to move forward with love, not fear.
“This installation celebrates our diverse community in Orlando, including the LGBTQ+ community. It is a reminder that all enter Orlando Science Center with love, no matter your background or identity.
Embedded within the crystals are 49 hearts, each a color of the rainbow, a tribute to the 49 innocent lives lost on the night of June 12, 2016. Never to be forgotten and forever in our hearts.”
Now, back to the exhibit.
This interactive journey lets you step into the worlds of Batman™, Superman™, Wonder Woman™, and more. After donning your cape, you’ll enter the Hall of Justice and begin your mission. You’ll be briefed by Superman and Supergirl on who’s a friend and who’s a foe, then help scan Gotham City for villain activity. The Riddler, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy have left behind clues—can you crack them and help restore order?
It was so much fun walking through and seeing all the iconic heroes, solving puzzles, and testing your reflexes and problem-solving skills with the hands-on challenges throughout.
Traveling with little ones this summer? Another huge plus—it’s indoors and air-conditioned, which is a lifesaver with Orlando’s triple-digit heat index and humidity. There’s also a toddler area, water play space, educational movies, and so much more to explore.
We’ll definitely be back to visit, as there’s still so much more to do—including checking out the dinosaur exhibit and catching one of their giant-screen movies.
