The 59TH ANNUAL WHITE ELEPHANT SALE IS HERE!

It’s that time of year again! The 59th annual White Elephant Sale in Northern California returns to Oakland March 3 and 4, 2018. It will feature 19 departments in a 96,000 Square Foot Warehouse. Items include, furniture, artwork, household goods and china, sporting gear, fine jewelry, collectibles, tools, music, books, vintage and contemporary clothing.

OMCA Exhibits Altered State: Marijuana in California

The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) opened Altered State: Marijuana in California in its Great Hall, the first-ever museum exhibition to focus on the topic. You’re welcomed to the exhibit with popular quotes on the wall by artists, politicians and scientists. The exhibit is not meant to declare a position and juxtaposes polarizing opinions in some of the areas.

UNEARTHED: FOUND + MADE

There’s an engaging exhibit at the Oakland Museum of California located in the Gallery of California Art that juxtaposes contemporary sculpture with traditional Japanese Suiseki. Associate Curator of Painting and Sculpture Christina Linden curated the exhibition, UNEARTHED: Found+Made.

Rituals + Remembrance at OMCA

The Oakland Museum of California explores this tradition and how other cultures honor their deceased in their exhibit, “Rituals + Remembrance”. The work represents elements of Buddhist, African American, Filipino, Hawaiian, Japanese, Chicano, and Latino rituals.
