If you’re into Off the Beaten Path travel you’ll be sure to enjoy, The Point Reyes, an abandoned and deteriorating fishing boat in Inverness, Marin County, California. A short drive north of San Francisco, it is located near Point Reyes National Seashore. You can find a multitude of photos online, as it’s become an attraction that shutterbugs are eager to partake in. There’s a small parking lot in front and you can also park by the Inverness Store. Pick up sandwiches, drinks and even oysters!
On an online search I found that the boat might have been an “I’ll fix it tomorrow” project that’s still waiting to be fixed. The previous owner bought it with the intent to repair it. He ended up selling the land to a company specializing in wetlands restoration and preservation. It was already popular among a few so they decided to leave it as is.
