Timken Museum’s Art of Fashion

The Timken Museum of Art in Balboa Park showcased a rare exhibition of fashion inspired by fine art at the eighth annual Art of Fashion 2015 fundraiser on April 20, 2015. More than 200 fashion enthusiasts from throughout Southern California attended the event, led by honorary chair Dame Zandra Rhodes, international fashion icon and designer.

The Very Core of Graffiti Art

The Centro Cultural de La Raza will host the “Sopita de Letras”, an exhibition of over 30 artists, until May 8, 2015. The exhibit takes the art form of Graffiti to the very core: letters/letras. Each contributing artis was randomly assigned a letter to showcase their skill and style. Nukes and Aliens

LAS VEGAS – We visited The National Atomic Testing Museum, an 8,000 square foot permanent exhibit in Las Vegas that provides multiple viewpoints on the work conducted at the Nevada Test Site and its impact on the nation. The museum included numerous artifacts and is designed to be an interactive experience. Many of the exhibits include touch screens, audio interviews from former workers from the test site and various other multimedia components. During our visit they also had an exhibit dedicated to the enigmatic Area 51:Myth or Reality. Area 51 is located in the southern portion of Nevada, northwest of Las Vegas. Situated at its center is a military field. The intense secrecy surrounding the base has made it a frequent subject of conspiracy theories and unidentified flying (UFO) folklore.
