SAN DIEGO – I received a somewhat cryptic email saying that Love Hope Strength (LHS)  would like to invite me to a night of culinary oddities, exotic beasts and enigmatic strangers. They plan to transform an empty warehouse into a market inspired soiree guaranteed to test the wits and tempt senses of the attendees. The invitation also said that there will be live music, unexpected encounters and complimentary Dos Equis. An invite from a stranger about an event I know nothing about? I’m in! Family Winemakers of California returns to San Diego

Family Winemakers of California returned to San Diego with its Southern California tasting event for a fifth consecutive year. The tasting took place at the Exhibit Hall on San Diego’s Del Mar Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 9 – Sunday, March 10.  The tasting spotlighted 175 producers from California’s small, family-owned wineries pouring upwards of 750 wines, all within the course of the two-day event, said Paul Kronenberg, president of the Family Winemakers of California. It’s time to shake it up at the San Diego Spirits Festival

One more day till the 4th Annual San Diego Spirits Festival weekend celebration. From August 25-26, attendees from around the globe will learn about the world of mixology while enjoying the latest cocktail creations. The unique two-day celebration of spirits, cocktails and local culinary scene will be at the Port Pavilion on Broadway. The festival will feature bartender competitions from top rated talent, being judged by Industry Leader Henry Preiss and a team of judges including Jeff Josenhans, Kyle Hall, Mark Russo and last year’s Bartender Battle winner Mike Yen.
